The Charter Boat Operator Course is suitable for anyone who wants to improve their boating skills, learn navigation, and understand the rules of operating on water, but it specifically qualifies you to apply for the Certificate for operators of charter boats.
The operator of a crewed chartered boat is required to hold a certificate for operators of charter boats. After completing the course, you can apply for the official certificate from Traficom if you have the required first aid skills. You can complete your first aid training through Xwander Academy’s first aid courses.
The course consists of three parts: the basics of chart navigation, the fundamentals of charter vessel regulations and skipper responsibilities, and practical qualification drives on the water. Participants will receive the Navigointi 1 course book and a chart with instructions in advance, allowing for deeper focus on hands-on chart work during the course.
By the end of the course, you will be able to handle a boat, read nautical charts, navigate using a compass, and operate safely and responsibly according to the responsibilities of a skipper.
The instructor comes from a boating education provider audited by Traficom.
