Xwander Academy – learning with a sense of adventure

Xwander Academy is part of Xwander, a company specializing in adventure travel and guided excursions in Northern Lapland. Our mission is to provide training that makes exploring nature safer and equips participants with the skills to handle unexpected situations calmly and correctly.

Training for responsible outdoor travel

We offer courses in first aid, wilderness skills, survival skills, and outdoor safety, designed to build confidence and practical skills for facing challenges in the wilderness. At the core of our training are responsibility, safety, and sustainable tourism, which are also key values of Xwander’s operations.

Our goal is to support both recreational adventurers and tourism professionals in moving safely and confidently in nature, so they can focus on enjoying the outdoors and deepening their connection with nature. Our first aid courses are suitable for everyone – from healthcare professionals to everyday citizens.

Facilities and additional services

Our training facilities are located in Ivalo and Rovaniemi, both in central locations. In Ivalo, the facilities are in the same building as the Eräsoppi store and rental service, with Pine Sky Suites accommodation available upstairs. In Rovaniemi, we share the premises with the Lumia Wellness yoga studio.

We are happy to assist with travel arrangements and finding suitable accommodation for the duration of the course.
